Winter: time for hot chocolate, scarves and car maintenance

The South African summer is slowly but surely winding down, giving way to grey skies and misty mornings. Although winter is generally a time for duvets, DVDs and minimal activity, on occasion necessity decrees that we venture out onto wet and slippery roads, where vision may be blurred by sheets of water. As such it is advisable to perform a pre-winter routine car maintenance inspection on your vehicle in preparation for dangerous conditions.
Even if your part of the country enjoys a milder winter climate where rainfall is not excessive, regular checks can benefit you in terms of extending the lifespan of your vehicle, improving fuel efficiency, and identifying minor problems early to avoid heavier car maintenance costs later on.
